GRAN SCALA GIVES LIFE TO A DESERT

Here in Aragon, we are shocked. The project announced in press in recent days has become THE SUBJECT everyone talks about. It has been nicknamed Las Vegas II, as it plans to build up to 32 hotels, 5 themeparks, casinos, and many other leisure activities.

The land chosen resembles Nevada in the sense there is hardly population, that is scattered in little villages, with severe weather conditions, that is, extremely hot summers, and cold (but not extreme) winters.

I have to say that I was, too, reluctant when it came down to believing the project. I thought: "yeah, yet another project that will never see the light". However, when I started looking into it, and finding that international press was actually confirming those news I have read, I started to change my mind.

The local population, and by local, I would also include Zaragoza, (Saragossa) are really excited about it. We are a little bit reluctant too, as it would not be the first time something big is announce and then it falls into oblivion... It is the first time that all the political parties agree on such a project. (Well, there is a minority party who, in pre-campaign, is starting to be against, without real arguments... Nothing to worry about, I would say).

The area chosen, eventhough it is not clear EXACTLY where it is going to be, is going to be ideal for this type of place. Apparently, studies have been done in order not to affect natural protected areas.

Transportwise, new infrastructures will be needed, I would say, improvement of roads and High Speed Tracks to link with the rest of the network will be built. The new Saragossa Airport will be ready shortly and will be able to cater for extra air traffic.

We will know more details on the 12th December... CAN'T WAIT.
